2024 County Championship Season Announced

15 Rounds, 14 Matches for Each Team

The 2024 County Championship will feature 15 rounds of matches, with each team playing 14 matches. The season will run from April 5 to September 29. The 124th edition of the County Championship will see the top 18 first-class counties in England compete for the title.

Key Dates

The season will begin on Friday, April 5, and will conclude on Sunday, September 29. The LV= Insurance County Championship Finals will be held from Sunday, September 29 to Thursday, October 3.

Format

The 18 counties will be divided into two divisions, with nine teams in Division One and nine teams in Division Two. Each team will play eight matches against opponents in their own division and six matches against opponents from the other division.

Promotion and Relegation

The top two teams in Division Two will be promoted to Division One for the 2025 season, while the bottom two teams in Division One will be relegated to Division Two.
